Barmouth Kite Festival takes place on our wonderful, sandy beach, in front of the Lifeboat Station, which is one of the finest settings in the whole world for a kite festival.
This display of striking, colourful kites of all shapes and sizes is brought to us by a group of expert kite flyers from around the UK (and a few from Europe) who enjoy nothing better than putting on a great show.
The event is free and although the big kites will be in a roped off arena this year (for public safety), there will be plenty of beach available for other kite enthusiasts to practice or show off their skills. The display kiters are always happy to give advice and information – just pop along to their base next to the RNLI beach access point.
